TL;DR
This is one of the shortest must reads for anyone wanting to understand the political ideology that is largely responsible for the mess we're in and yet still underpins most of mainstream political and economic thinking.

Notes & Thoughts

I read this for the second time. The first time I read it I flew through it. It is an easy read and progresses steadily, chapter on chapter, in an engaging way. This time round I thought I would read it more actively: stopping and taking notes, and thinking a bit more about the ideas presented. I started out positively, but the book is so tight and concise, that trying to summarise the key ideas seems a bit pointless. If anything, you might want to expand on some of the ideas. So eventually, I just started reading it fairly swiftly again, stopping occassionaly to think, but not taking notes.

I did note some thoughts down while reading this book. But on reflection they're not that interesting, and I don't think they're worth spending any more time trying to refine. So I won't.
